Shirin Vaqar is a self-taught Iranian fashion designer and co-founder of Iranian label Vaqar. The brand quickly rose to the spotlight after being successfully shortlisted for the LVMH prize in 2016. Having a keen interest in the arts, Vaqar discovered the beauty of fashion at a very young age. After attending Azad University of Tehran for Visual Arts for two years, Vaqar decided to continue her studies in architecture at Tehran University of Applied Science and Technology. In 2013, she quit her studies to pursue fashion with the help of her sister Shiva. Shirin attempts to translate her perception of the world into practical fashion ideas by creating structured, flowing and voluminous garments.
